Background: Special Plan of Albayzin in Granada
An intense exercise cataloging preceded by a thorough historical and archaeological research substantiated this protection planning which served as a necessary reference for whatever was followed in what it affects both the old town and the vast and extraordinary cave habitat.
However, the plan goes beyond the committed protection to set a pattern to follow in the urban design of the municipality of both the header and the system of subsidiary villages of Guadix. The Plan undertook a major reading with normative consequences of the exceptional values of Guadix from the ethnographic point of view, and its archaeological survey and norms are today a reference for the management of those assets of culture.
