Rehabilitating a building with very good trace but very altered
Background: In the monastery-Chartreuse of Santa Maria de El Paular
A XIX c. building embedded in a very large property formerly an estate of a nearby monastery and within what today is National Park of Guadarrama between the provinces of Madrid and Segovia.
A research was carried out to define the original traces of this interesting building very altered in a process of successive interventions diverted from its quality. The proposed project design integrated a large house and a spacious apartment that allowed a more functional use in times of the year in which the deployment of the full program of the large house was not required. Major sights, the presence of a nearby orchard garden setting with a small stream and above all an extreme climate of harsh winters were references of interest.
