LINEAR PARK IN THE BANKS OF JERTE RIVER

For the first time in the urban history of this city a planning of its municipal area faces the problem of the relationship of this city with the river Jerte, a front that is its most important instrument not only scenic, but especially in terms of urban and territorial structure and function . Jerte Linear Park is designated and designed to take advantage of the impressive natural asset of the so called “gallery” of the river banks and at the same time generate linear paths imprint from the great dam placed a few kilometers north of the city to reach and relate the system of parks planned across the path of the river in its rural stretch but above all in relation to the immediate urban fabric. We see here an example of multivariable role of the parks. This policy of urban regeneration through the integration of a system of parks, develops in front of the river, and from there to the urban conglomerate.
