For the first time in the urban history of this city a planning of its municipal area faces the problem of the relationship of this city with the river Jerte, a front that is its most important instrument not only scenic, but especially in terms of urban and territorial structure and function . We see here an example of the multivariable role played by urban parks (in this case the existing island that is remodeled, as it is also the Orchards placed to its North which are the object of a new design) and urban gardens (San Francisco and the College of the River that are designed and connected with a new bridge of focal character)This policy of urban regeneration through the integration of a system of parks, develops in front of the river, upstream with new parks
