Background: Protection Plan of the walled centre
The plan tackled the municipal head and its system of settlements, large infrastructure solutions for the new urban layout, overall sustainability approach and a thorough study of the economic base and the physical environment. The Master Plan picked solutions recently approved for the Protectionl Plan of the walled centre and included a renewed spatial layout for industrial areas, as well as the the consequences of the passage of large-municipal transport infrastructure (highways, railways etc.) and a new urban expansion weighted with intensity. Especially proposed an inner regeneration with the definition of a great unifying project based on an axis of parks as well as the option for the implementation of a range of tertiary structures to boost the economic base.
