Protection of this town of extraordinary history started from the definition of its boundary, performed "live and direct" to the inquisitive eye of Fernando Chueca Goitia. The Protection Plan developed up to the end of its municipal process, started from a very intense typological study (Bologna type), represented in a mapping integrating itself with the outlay of all buildings, the drafting of a catalog of listed buildings, extraordinarily detailed for the time, a traffic study incorporating a flow model, and all the ingredients of a plan of this nature as conceived from the vast heritage legislation which this plan constitutes early history. Plan participated with very lively debates for its proposals on pedestrian business area, anticipating solutions that are common today. Important historical study not only of the surviving elements but also of the overwhelming heritage disappeared.
